Research Visit on "Zhale Cliff Inscriptions" Located in Yushu, Qinghai Province

Abstract:"Zhale Cliff Inscriptions" was found in ChengDuo, YuShu, QingHai, of which not only represents very rare but significant historical styling in early part of Later Diffusion Buddhism, but also projected lots of Tibetan Buddhism patterns and annotations. The Zhale provided concrete evidence and materials to prove arts prevalence of Tibetan Buddhism's in the vast east Tibet area during the Later Diffusion Buddhism period. The author took large efforts for detail exploration, consulting Zhale habitants on local history study, made out a connection of Zhale Cliff Inscription to the Later Diffusion Path in East Tibet. By his contribution we saw a clear picture of its stories, and the connections to the prevalent path of Tibetan Buddhism's, archaeological age of Zhale cliff inscriptions, and the reason of Zhale to become its location of such creation.
