Arab Voice in the Battle
But, how can I become a fighter, and what ammunition do I have? What role can I play in the war against this epidemic in China? After thinking about it, I told myself, if I could play a role in this battle against the epidemic, I must make my voice heard.
I can convey what is happening in Wuhan to our Arab world in Arabic on the spot. Through sound, images, and accurate information that has been carefully checked, I can become a source of “truth”. In this battle, just like in a real war, the propaganda war came to the fore. Since the beginning of this epidemic, there have been many cases of propaganda discrediting China, especially from the United States and a few allies who used the epidemic disaster to slander China in order to suppress and undermine China's political stability and economic development.
In fact, I had already started fighting. In an isolated home environment,I could only play a role similar to that of a war reporter. I was not a full-time journalist, so part of my ammunition source was derived from enemies' propaganda. I first recorded the rumors and then exposed them one by one to prevent the spread of such rumors.
Faced with this challenge, I warned myself that I din't know much about the new coronavirus epidemic, which meant huge efforts must be made. Whether through the university or through my follow-up search, I had obtained a lot of relevant information, but these were not sufficient and systematic. I started a new research project, which lasted for the entire period of home isolation. Even later, many people thought that my major was medicine or biology.
Opening up a new field at a time of crisis was a difficult task, but it was also an enjoyable task. I sat at the desk eagerly, plunged into reference materials, and checked every piece of information, including the fictitious and fake lies. I tracked the sources of these information piece by piece. In just a few hours, I discovered that I already had some ammunition needed to participate in this war. I could stay in Wuhan and devoted myself to the front line of fighting the epidemic!
