CHAPTER 1 Ancient Civilization and Origin of Medical Knowledge (Remote Ages-500 B.C.)

Many early human fossils and evidence of ancient culture have been discovered in China’s vast territory. As early as 1.7 million years ago in this wide stretch of land, early humans lived and multiplied, labored and created ancient civilizations.
Primitive societies emerged in the initial phase after humans evolved from animals, and this has parallels with the commonly experienced human childhood. Primitive health care activities also developed in these early groups of humans.
All human civilizations developed healing practices through similar processes of trail and error. Numerous archeological excavations and ancient books record legends, across time and space, expressing our ancestors’ explorations of the outside world, and their desire to maintain health and avoid illnesses.
