Creating a marketing list

Perform the following steps to create a marketing list:

  1. Navigate to Marketing | Marketing List and click on the + NEW button. The following form of marketing list will load:

The following are some of the important details of the Marketing List:

  • List Type: This defines the type of marketing list—that is, Static or Dynamic.
  • Targeted At: This defines the target audience of the marketing list. It can be Account, Contact, or Lead.
  • Cost: This is the cost set for the execution of the campaign.
  • Members: This is a collection of all of the records that are to be targeted in the campaign.
  • Campaigns: This is a collection of all of the marketing campaigns that target this marketing list.
  • Quick Campaigns: This is a collection of all of the marketing quick campaigns that target this marketing list.
  1. Adding members to a static marketing list: After the marketing list is created, with the List Type as Static, you must manually add members to the Members grid, as follows:
  1. Select members for the marketing lists, as follows:
  1. We manage the members as follows:
  1. Select members by using Look Up Records:

Make the necessary changes, as shown:

  1. Create a Static Marketing List, as shown in the following screenshot:

After making the appropriate changes, your screen should look as follows: 

As illustrated in the preceding screenshots, Dynamics 365 also provides the capability to add members by using ADVANCED FIND:

  1. Adding members to a dynamic marketing list: After the marketing list is created, with the list type as Dynamic, you will need to specify a query. All of the records of the target member that fall under the query will be added to the marketing list:
  1. Let's look at the second part of the same figure, as shown in the following screenshots:

On updating further, in the dynamic marketing list, it looks like the following screenshot:

As illustrated in the query, all contacts in the Ireland will be added to the marketing list.
