Chapter 3. Your Frontpage

Mambo is set up and you're ready to get started. Before you can dive in, we need to .... actually, let's dive in. I like to follow Captain Kirk's approach, "fools rush in where angels fear to tread..." I'm not suggesting you're a fool, dear reader, the fact you are reading this book shows you to be a person of impeccable taste. However, diving in to make our first modifications to the site will give us a great chance to get introduced to many of the main concepts of Mambo, which you will explore in greater detail in the coming chapters.

In this chapter you'll familiarize yourself with a visitor's eye-view of the Mambo world, and then peer into the secret realm of the administration area. The Administration area is the "base of operations" for managing and controlling our Mambo site. Along the way, we'll make our first changes to the site, and edit the content displayed on the frontpage of the site, and also change the way the frontpage display is configured.
