Foreword

According to the requirements specified in the Plan for Developing Professional Standards in 2006（Document Number:〔2006〕No.1093）issued by the General Administration Office of National Development and Reform Commission，this Specification is revised by its development team based on wide and intensive investigations and studies made，practices summarized，comments requested as well as references to international codes and advanced foreign standards.

This specification comprises 9 chapters.

The main technical contents of this Specification include the requirements for piping，auxiliary structures，hydraulic calculations，pipe material selection and pipe joints，and coating and insulation of pipes.

This Specification is revised on the basis of the Specification for Design of Water Supply and Drainage Piping in Petrochemical Industry（SH 3034-1999），and main revisions include:

——Add Chapter 3:Terms and Definitions；

——Add the provisions for water hammer calculation；

——Add the design requirements for pipe supports and hangers；

——Specify the material selection for various types of piping system；

——Modify the fireproof design for water trap manholes based on previous design and engineering experience；

The provisions printed in bold type are mandatory and must be enforced strictly.
