8.2 Measurement Instrument Equipment

8.2.1 The temperature measurement instruments shall be in accordance with the following requirements:

1 The graduation of heat resistance temperature detector(RTD)should be Pt100;for thermocouples,those with graduation of E,K,S or B shall be selected in priority based on the temperature measurement range;

2 Temperature measurement of radiant tube wall in annealing furnace shall be made with armored thermocouples;

3 For the inserted type temperature measurement instrument,its insertion depth shall be determined appropriately depending on the process pipe diameter;

4 The protection pipe material for temperature measurement component shall be properly selected based on the characteristics of media measured;

5 For continuous strip temperature measurement,infrared pyrometer should be employed.

8.2.2 The pressure measurement instruments shall be in accordance with the following requirements:

The material of components contacting the corrosive media shall be selected appropriately in the light of the corrosion behavior of the media measured,and diaphragm sealed pressure transmitter should be used for strongly corrosive acid media.

8.2.3 Throttling device and electromagnetic flow meter for flow measurement shall be in accordance with the following requirements:

1 Throttling device shall comply with the following requirements:

1)For flow measurement of gas and non-conductive liquid,throttling device should be selected;

2)For measurement of gas with high temperature and pressure fluctuation,temperature and pressure compensation shall be required;

3)Pressure tapping and installation mode of throttling device shall be determined in compliance with the relevant requirements in the current national standard GB/T 2624 Measurement of Fluid Flow by Means of Orifice PlatesNozzles and Venturi Tubes Inserted in Circular Cross-section Conduits Running Full.

2 Electromagnetic flow meter shall comply with the following requirements:

1)Electromagnetic flow meter shall be used in preference for flow measurement of conductive liquid media;

2)Media containing magnetic or magnetizable substances should not be measured by electromagnetic flow meter;

3)For the alkaline media,the electrode should be made of stainless steel and for strongly corrosive acid media,it should be made of tantalum with lining material made of polytetrafluoroethylene(teflon);

4)In the area with insufficient maintenance space or strong vibration,or for flow measurement of strongly corrosive media,split type electromagnetic flow meter should be applied.

8.2.4 Level meter shall be in accordance with the following requirements:

1 For the media of which the fluid density changes easily and obviously under normal working condition,static pressure type or differential pressure type level meter should not be used;

2 The media containing magnetic substances or substances that are easily magnetized should not be measured by magnetic flap type level indictor or magnetic float type level meter;

3 The level of strongly corrosive media should be measured by ultrasonic or radar level meter.

8.2.5 The analysis instruments of annealing furnace shall be in accordance with the following requirements:

1 It is necessary to install analysis instrument system to analyze gas composition of furnace atmosphere;

2 Analysis instrument system should be installed to analyze combustion off-gas;

3 In the area where dangerous gas may leak,gas detector and leakage alarm device shall be provided.

8.2.6 Control valve shall be in accordance with the following requirements:

1 Control valve shall be operated to safety position in case of emergency;

2 Safety-related control valve not equipped with bypass valve shall be designed with hand wheel.

8.2.7 Special instrument shall be set in accordance with the following requirements:

1 Necessary special instrument shall be arranged as required by the process for the production line;

2 The radioactive instrument used shall be in compliance with the relevant requirements in the current national standard GB 18871 Basic Standards for Protection against Ionizing Radiation and for the Safety of Radiation Sources and GB 4792 Basic Health Standards for Radiological Protection.

8.2.8 Energy media measurement shall be conducted in accordance with the following requirements:

1 Energy media measurement shall be carried out in accordance with the management requirement of the enterprise and the relevant requirements in the current national standard GB 17167 General Principle for Equipping and Managing of the Measuring Instrument of Energy in Organization of Energy Using.

2 The energy media measurement meters shall be so set as required below:

1)Metering instruments shall be installed for energy media coming to/leaving cold rolling strip plant;

2)Energy media generated from,or consumed by,or recovered from the production line should be arranged with metering instruments.

3 Energy media measurement signal of production line should be displayed on and managed by the corresponding basic automation system.

4 Energy media metering unit shall be in line with the relevant requirements in the current national standard GB 3100-3102 Quantities and Units.
