Foreword

According to the requirements specified in The Plan for Developing the First Group of Professional Standard in 2009（Document No.〔2009〕104）issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China，this Specification is revised by its development team based on wide and intensive investigations and studies made，practices summarized，comments requested as well as references to international codes and advanced foreign standards.

This Specification comprises 10 chapters and 5 appendixes.

The main technical contents of this Specification include the principles for the performance design，construction design，material selection，proper design and configuration of main component parts of reciprocating compressor for petrochemical service，the guidelines for auxiliary equipment，auxiliary piping systems，control and instruments that are important parts of the compressor train，and the requirements for inspection，testing，painting，packaging，shipment and documentation preparation for the compressor train.

This Specification is revised based on the SH/T 3143-2004 Technical Specification for Reciprocating Compressor in Petrochemical Industry，and main revisions include：

—Revising the relevant articles originally cited from API Std 618-1995 in accordance with API Std 618-2007.

—Add and delete some normative references.

—Update the versions of the normative references.

—Increase the propositional maximum product of cylinder diameter and compressor speed，and the limit of the maximum cylinder diameter.

—Combined loading of the rod，crosshead pin，or bushing shall be calculated considering one compressor valve failed in any location.

—Specify the condition which needs the cylinder cooling system and frame lubrication system.

—Specify the standard about the ultrasonic inspection of crankshaft.

—Add the measure which protects the compressor train when the compressor starts with load.

—Specify the vibration value of the compressor frame after installed on the foundation.

—Update the data sheets.

—Updatethe typical material specifications for the compressor main component parts.

—Update the material specifications for piping.
