About the Authors
Zhou Zhong is an Associate Professor of the Institute of Education, Tsinghua University. She also served as the Associate Dean of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange in 2016-2018, Tsinghua University. She holds a BA in English Language and Literature from Peking University, MSc in Comparative and International Education and DPhil in Educational Studies from the University of Oxford. Her main research interest lies in comparative, international, interdisciplinary and cross-cultural studies of higher education. Her recent research projects focus on university global strategies, comparative policy studies in international higher education, and innovative education design and evaluation. She has extensive experience in integrating the teaching, research and practice of teaching and learning innovation, promoting global competence education and global academic mobility. She has received regional and institutional awards for her teaching and research in international education.
Jinghuan Shi is a Professor of the Institute of Education, Tsinghua University and Director of the Tsinghua University Global Research Center for the Assessment of College and Student Development. She holds a BA in English, MA in World History of Education and PhD in Chinese Education in Modern Times from Beijing Normal University. Her main research areas are higher education, history of education, international and comparative education, and teacher education. She has served as the deputy Chair of special Committee of Institutional Research, China Association of Higher Education and the Standing Council Member of Higher Education Researchers at China Association of Higher Education. She also served as honorary professor at Institute of Education, University of Manchester; overseas auditor of Australian Universities Quality Agency; Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency; special appointed professor at Center for Research and Development in Higher Education, Hokkaido University; Fulbright Scholar at University of Maryland;and visiting scholar at Kent State University.
Kevin McConkey is Emeritus Professor of Psychology, University of New South Wales, Australia. He holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) and a PhD in Psychology from the University of Queensland, Australia; he is also a graduate of the Advanced Management Program of Harvard Business School, USA. He is an Honorary Fellow of the Australian Psychological Society, and a Fellow of the Academy of the Social Sciences in Australia, the American Psychological Association, and the Association for Psychological Science. He is also a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company
Directors. He has extensive experience in psychology and higher education through academic, governance, and management roles across diverse and complex organizations. He has received numerous national and international awards for his teaching, research and service in psychology. He also has expertise in national and international education, and extensive experience working with individuals, institutions and governments across Australia, Asia, and North America to create educational and research alliances and partnerships, as well as to guide and mentor students and faculty.
