Preface
We were honoured when asked to provide a preface for this text-An Introduction to Trusts. This is an area we practice in,however on reading the text we were reminded of the adage that you never actually stop learning as on reading the text we learned much about trusts in China. We value the scholarship and analysis brought to the topic by Professor Han Liang-a man who combines strength of academic analysis with a huge amount of practical experience. Professor Han contributes much to this area and the international legal community will most definitely benefit from this publication.
This book provides a step by step analysis in a very logical and persuasive manner, with the topic being explored thoroughly. It is easy to read and very well laid out. The Judiciary, legal and academic community will greatly benefit from this text-having a clear and concise exposition on trusts from the Chinese perspective-covering what a trust is,through its features, advantages and benefits and importantly, what its uses may be. The analysis and comparison of legislation and case law in this area is enlightening and as up-to-date as it can be.
We believe this text will quickly establish itself as the “go-to” text for the profession not just in China, but globally for those wanting to gain an understanding of how trusts can benefit business and individuals dealing with or in China.
We don’t know how Professor Han Liang makes time to write as extensively as he does and still maintain a busy practice as well as international commitments. However he does it,we for one are very grateful!
For his hard work, academic endeavour and dedication to seeing this project to completion we would like to say thank you for benefiting us all.
