
Abstract
The equipment manufacturing industry is the basic industry of the national economic system. After years of development,China’s equipment manufacturing industry is large but not strong. After the global financial crisis,the situation at home and abroad has undergone great changes,and therefore China’s equipment manufacturing industry is in a key transition period to improve the ability of innovation. Innovation is the main way of China’s equipment manufacturing industry’s upgrading. It is of great practical significance to define the technological innovation level characteristics and influencing factors of China’s equipment manufacturing industry. Through a large number of qualitative and quantitative research,the paper makes a deep analysis on the present situation,development trend,industry characteristics,regional characteristics and key influencing factors of the technological innovation level of China’s equipment manufacturing industry.
The thesis is divided into nine chapters. Chapter 4 to Chapter 7 is the core section of the thesis,which carries out the qualitative and the quantitative analysis from different dimensions of the industry’s technological innovation level. The technological innovation level here is reconstructed into technological innovation capability and technological innovation efficiency,and the paper carries out the relatively independent and interrelated research,which is one of the core innovation points of the thesis.
Chapter 1 is the literature review,providing the beneficial reference for the full text writing.
Chapter2 is the theoretical basis of the paper. Through the connotation of the Industrial technology innovation and the interpretation of the network perspective,the paper provides theoretical support for the main factors that should be covered in the technical innovation analysis of the equipment manufacturing industry. Through the theoretical analysis of the cumulative and process characteristics of the dynamic change of industrial system,the paper draws a solution to the research of technological innovation level of China’s equipment manufacturing industry in China.
Chapter 3 focuses on the overall development of China’s equipment manufacturing industry and the status of representative industries in the global industrial chain. This is the key background and foundation of the industry’s technological innovation level analysis. At the industrial level,the international market share(MS)and the revealed comparative advantage(RCA)were quantitatively calculated by using UN Comtrade data,and it was found that the international competitiveness of China’s equipment manufacturing industry began to improve,but still not strong. At the enterprise level,relying on the “2015 World Machinery 500” ranking data,it was found that compared to the United States,Japan and Korea,China’s equipment manufacturing enterprises still have a significant gap.
Chapter 4 and Chapter 5 are the evaluation of technological innovationlevel from the industry level. Chapter 4 focuses on the ability evaluation. An index system including fund input,manpower input,enterprise participation,technology acquisition and application is constructed. Based on the factor analysis method,the paper evaluates the key industries’ innovation ability from 2011 to 2016. And it shows that the technological innovation ability has been declining since 2013. Then,the paper analyzes the key factors of technological innovation ability in different industries. And finally,combining with the innovation practice of China’s equipment manufacturing industry,the inspiration of empirical analysis to industrial innovation capability is discussed. By using the improved DEA model and considering one year’s innovative input-output time lag,Chapter 5 empirically analyzes the technological innovation efficiency of key industries from 2012 to 2016. The empirical results are interpreted from the perspective of comprehensive technical efficiency,pure technical efficiency,scale efficiency and returns to scale,and the key factors affecting the innovation efficiency of various industries are found through sensitivity analysis. Besides,the key insight to improve efficiency is excavated. Combined with the evaluation results of technological innovation capability and technological innovation efficiency,the key points of upgrading technological innovation level vary in different industries.
In Chapter 6 and Chapter 7,two typical industries in different developing stages are chosen to make empirical analysis on the technological innovation level in different provincial areas,which are electronic and communication equipment manufacturing industry,and medical equipment and instrumentation manufacturing. Using the data in 2016,the results of the two industry capability assessments were clustered based on the golden section principle. Based on the DEA model,an empirical analysis of innovation efficiency in different regions was conducted. Comparing the results of empirical analysis of technological innovation capability and efficiency,the regional characteristics of the innovation levels in the two industries were obtained.
In Chapter 8,by summarizing the experience of the innovation policy of the United States,Germany,Japan and Korea,combining with the main implications obstained from the empirical analysis results,policy suggestions are concluded.
The final chapter is the conclusion.
