Chapter 2 Theoretical construct of EFL writing

With the aim of picturing the developing course of writing assessment, this chapter first briefly reviews the history of writing assessment. Following the discussion of the nature of writing, the construct of EFL writing is examined, with special attention paid to the cognitive and affective aspects of EFL writing, and the componential construct of EFL writing.
