说明
1．谓语说明主语的动作、状态或性质。谓语有简单谓语和复合谓语之分。
2．由一个动词或短语动词构成的谓语为简单谓语。如：
Ill news travels fast．坏事传千里。
3．由情态动词加不定式或由系动词加表语构成的谓语为复合谓语。如：
A fool can ask more questions than seven wise men can answer．一愚发问，七智结舌。
Something that looks good does not necessarily taste good．好看的东西未必好吃。
Three-year-old Billy accidentally swallowed（吞下）a penny. He thought he was going to die and cried. In order to calm him, his father took a penny from his pocket and pretended to pull it from Billy's ear. Billy was delighted. Quickly, he took it from his father's hand, swallowed it and asked happily, “Do it again, dad!”
