The Nature of Research and Analytical Technology
Abstract: This paper distinguishes between two confusing concepts in discussions on social science research methods, namely, the nature of research and analytical technologies. On this basis, three types of research dimensions, namely qualitative, quantitative, and individual cases, are analyzed and combined with the three types of analytical techniques: historical analytical techniques, theoretical analytical techniques, and statistical analytical techniques. In addition, the article also elaborates on one of the sub-category combinations, that is, the methods of interaction between theoretical models and case study methods.
