Jeju Island is a volcanic island, off the southern coast of South Korea, in the Korea Strait, southwest of Jeollanam-do Province. It is known as the "Island of the Gods" and is a popular vacation spot for Koreans and many Japanese. It remains one of the top honeymoon destinations for Korean newlyweds. The island's mixture of volcanic rock, frequent rains, and temperate climate, make it very similar to the Hawaiian Islands in the U.S. The island offers visitors a wide range of activities: hiking on Halla-san, catching sunrises and sunsets over the ocean, viewing majestic waterfalls, riding horses, or just lying around on the sandy beaches.

Sightseeing in Hallasan Mountain 游览汉拿山

Formed from volcanic activity millions of years ago, Hallasan Mountain is a shield-shaped mountain with a lake-filled crater, columnar-jointed cliffs, and countless smaller parasitic volcanoes. The mountain is surrounded by over 360 small volcanic mountains and 2,000 plant species. Hallasan Mountain is perhaps Jeju's most prominent geographical feature, rising out of the very center of the island.

Visit Geomunoreum Lava Tube System 游拒文岳熔岩洞窟群

The Geomunoreum Lava Tube System is the largest lava tube system on Jeju and one of the most extensive series of lava tube caves in the world. It is made up of the Manjanggul Cave, Bengduigul Cave, Yongcheongul Cave, and Dangcheomuldonggul Cave. The lava tube system has only recently been opened to the public, meaning that the tubes have remained well-preserved and can still be seen in their original condition.

拒文岳熔岩洞窟群是济州岛最大的熔岩洞窟群，也是世界上拥有熔岩洞窟最多的洞窟群之一。它由万丈窟、崩地窟、龙泉洞窟和当车目洞窟组成。该洞窟群最近才向公众开放，所以洞窟保存得很好，游客仍旧能看到它的原始样态。

Lying at the east of the island, this tuff cone is the result of the island's volcanic history. With one side rising out of the sea and the other side sloping down into the surrounding countryside, Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak is truly a sight to behold. Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak is famous not only as a geological wonders, but also as one of the best places in Korea to watch the sunrise, earning it the name "Sunrise Peak".

Getting There 抵达方法By plane 乘坐飞机

Jeju international airport has a total of 23 airlines providing direct flights (thirteen local, ten international). The vast majority of flights to Jeju are from Gimpo (Seoul's domestic airport) or Busan; there is also one direct flight per week to Incheon, seven direct flights per week to Tokyo Narita, seven to Osaka Kansai, four to Beijing, plus flights to Shanghai Pudong, etc.

Ferry access from the mainland is also available. Jeju port has six direct sailing routes. 6% of total travelers come in and out of Jeju by sea.

Besides tourism, Cheju's main industries are fishing and agriculture. Fresh fish, squid, octopus, sea cucumber, and various other creatures can be easily bought in markets, restaurants, and even right on the beach. Cheju's tropical weather and high precipitation are perfect for growing pineapples and tangerines. The island is also famous for its Shitake mushrooms and cactus plants. Honey made from local flowers has a special taste.
