Part I Writing
People tend to be good talkers instead of good listeners. They are willing to tell others what they feel or what they want but often have no patience or are reluctant to listen to what others say. That's bad for communication. If one wants to be a good communicator, he has to bear in mind that listening is more important than talking.
It is listening instead of talking that offers us a better chance to understand others. By listening attentively to what others say, we are more likely to know their real thoughts and offer them constructive advice, thus establishing a sound interpersonal relationship with them. But if we only talk about ourselves to others and ignore their feelings, the conversation might be a nightmare for them and we would by no means know what they are thinking about.
To conclude, listening plays a more important role than talking when it comes to effective communication.

1.They are willing to tell others what they feel or what they want but often have no patience or are reluctant to listen to what others say.
本句是一个由but连接的并列句,在第一个分句中,what they feel和what they want是动词tell的宾语,在第二个分句中,what others say是listen to 的宾语。
2.If one wants to be a good communicator, he has to bear in mind that listening is more important than talking.
3.It is listening instead of talking that offers us a better chance to understand others.
去掉it is和that之后,句子结构仍然完整。
4.By listening attentively to what others say, we are more likely to know their real thoughts and offer them constructive advice, thus establishing a sound interpersonal relationship with them.
本句的主干是we are more likely to know their real thoughts and offer them constructive advice, 而句首by引出的介词短语作整个句子的方式状语,其中含有一个宾语从句what others say作listening to的宾语,thus establishing…
5.But if we only talk about ourselves to others and ignore their feelings, the conversation might be a nightmare for them and we would by no means know what they are thinking about.
