Preface
It’s not clear when I am keen on photography. My majors are drama and stagecraft. It seems that they have no much correlation. However, in my opinion, they are both an art of storytelling, which can realize my aspiration of telling stories. The differences between them only in the way and technique.
So, my original intention is just to record and explore the stories of the photos. Each time when I press the shutter, I always try to set up a picture in order to show the story of the photo. Although the stories are direct or obscure, the viewers with personal experience of joys and sorrows happened in the photos will find vitality of the photos. Actually, how to fully show this vitality is my photography pursuit.
I prefer true and nature photos to elaborately arranged photos. Photos captured from daily life can really record the moment when stories happens. More importantly, these photos must tell some story, not just what they show.
In my opinion, the reason why photography is called an art is that it needs a quiet heart, which is my life value. Any flippant or vanity will hinder my creation.
My photos will spread my thought of thinking what people are , what people have done, how to live and die, and why to live and die. At the same time, the photos will extend viewers’ eyes, and lively show the moment.
In a sense, these photos are extention of my sense of sight and thought. Because of them, my life has been enriched. They will tell me about pleasure and pain, beauty and ugliness, good and evil, love and hate.
Life and death, funny and noble, brave and cowardly, and deep and shallow...
This is the first photographic collection in my first 20 years of life. Many thanks to brother Wu Youzhen, with whom I have a long talk, making me firmly persist in photography. At the same time, thanks to all friends helping me in arranging and publishing these photos.
