Purple Heron
The Purple Heron is about 1 meter long. The forehead and calvaria are blue-black, with two gray-black crests on the occipital region, hanging up on the head, just like plaits. And the head and neck are chestnut brown. A blue vertical line on the side of the neck extends from the rictus to the chest. The back, waist and tail feathers are grey, with white neck and larynx, and chestnut brown chest and upper abdomen. The iris is yellow, with the dark yellow bill, brown beak, green-yellow lore, and yellow posterior margin of the feet and tibia, with auburn front edge.
