建立商务关系的函电侧重于表达想与对方公司建立商务关系的意愿，此类函电首先会简要说明如何得知收信公司的信息，并做简单的自我介绍，然后强调与对方公司建立商务关系的意愿。

Through the courtesy of our Commercial Counselor's Office in London，we notice that you are interested in doing business with us.

Our lines are mainly textiles. We wish to establish business relations by the commencement of some practical transactions. 辨析：begin、start和commence

begin和start都是表示“开始”的最普通用字。从修辞角度看begin是中性词，口语、笔译通用；而start的口语色彩较浓；commence主要用于较为正式的场合。

begin和start都可接名词、动名词或不定式。

begin的反义词是end；start的反义词是stop；commence的反义词是conclude。

4.appreciate v.

1）涨价

The price has appreciated.

价格已涨。

2）感谢（后接名词或动名词作宾语）

Your immediate attention will be appreciated.

我们将感谢你方对此事的立刻重视。

We shall appreciate it if you will make us a firm offer for 50 tons.

如果给我们报一个50吨的实盘，我们将不胜感激。

注：We shall appreciate it if you will …是外贸书信中的常见句子，等于please，但更客气些。

3）理解

We appreciate your difficulty in coping with competition.

我们理解你们应付竞争的困难。

We fully appreciate your anxiety that the shipment should be made as soon as possible.

我方完全理解你方希望货物尽早装运的急切心情。

辨析：appreciable与appreciative

appreciable是“可看见的，可感到的”意思，appreciative是“感激的，感谢的”意思。例如：

There is no appreciable difference between them.

他们之间没有什么明显的差别。

We are appreciative of your close cooperation.

我们对你们的密切合作表示感谢。
